DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE

  • Alcohol begins to play a bigger role in the lives of young people during the transition from lower to upper secondary education and for many parties become a key aspect of their identity. The educational booklet aims at combating this by achieving a culture where minors don't drink and young adults of legal drinking age consume moderately.
  • The booklet is tailored to different types of secondary education and was created with the help of relevant professional experts such as brain researchers, sociologists and psychologists. It is split into three sections: Wellbeing (includes a model of alcohol policy for schools and guidelines about wellbeing), Social (includes abuse and typical behaviour patterns) and Risky behaviour (includes how to deal with risky behaviour, the dangers of mixing alcohol with drugs and addresses for more information). All sections include a student assignment to be solved as a group task.
